I'm having this, too. There are days when I can't bite with the fronts enough to bite through a sandwich, even a soft one. It's like they don't cut. The pressure is there, but I can't get the cutting to work. My dentist said that it's not unusual and that it goes away at different times for different people but that it'd definitely go away within a few weeks of the braces coming off.

Complete stabilization of the support structure typically takes 9-12 months. Your teeth will feel stronger as time goes on, but plan on a full year before everything behind the scenes is good to go. This is why it is so important to be diligent about wearing your retainer post treatment, especially the first year.

Good Luck,
Rory
