Ok, my English is not the best when it comes to medicine-language. But:
My friend has been in braces, and her orthodontist "burned off" some of her gum tissue, so it wouldn't show as much when she smiles:D It looks really nice. I really want this done, because I have really small teeth!
So, I'll talk to my orthodontist about it next time. If he doesn't offer it, I'll go to my friend's ortho:) Just thought I'd share, might be others with the same problem on here! There is hope:D

Both upper and lower metals
Been in braces for: 1 year 15 days
Next adjustment: Feb. 28th- 08

gum contouring surgery, I think some people on the boards have had this done.
Upper and lower 1st premolars extracted
Uppers braced 4/6/07 & Lowers braced 4/20/07
ceramic brackets and rectangular arch wires
Est. term: 30-36 months
De-banded: 3/04/09 w/ LBR and U&L Essix

Really, there is away to get rid of a gummy smile? I would love to have this done. When I smile properly, my is smile half teeth half gum!!
