Getting "wired" 1/14, and scared

#1 Post by minadee »

Hi All,

I'm 28 and will be getting braces in 8 days. I go in tomorrow (1/7) for spacers, get 4 teeth extracted on Wednesday, then get braces on the 14th. I must admit, I'm scared. I didn't realize how much drama there is in getting braces!!

try not to stress about it too much. You'll be fine! I'm lucky enough to have not needed spacers, but I did have eight teeth out!!

Just try to relax and be comfortable with your decision, and if you need reassurance... you know where to find us

Hiya Minadee!

I’m with you! I got my spacers put in today, and one has already popped out so I’ve got to go back tomorrow to have a new one put in, and I get my braces on the 22nd. I’m nervous but also so excited to fix the problems I’ve had with my teeth for six years. I think whatever discomfort [lol] and issues pop up, it’ll be worth it in the end.

BUT I still shake like a leaf in the wind whenever I’m in that waiting room ^^

To paraphrase an old saying: Anything that doesn't kill you will make your teeth straighter!
GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for your support! I'm recuperating from the extractions and doing OK. The worst part is that I can't eat...but that's good news for my waistline. I can't wait to get these spacers out!!!
