Visible Bracket Glue

#1 Post by Kaluna »

The glue used to hold my braces on seems to extend out a bit around the brackets on some of my teeth. While this doesn't seem that odd to me, when I look at my teeth I have a hard time telling the glue apart from bad things like food and plaque. Does this glue wear off? I'm guessing not... Has anyone else had this issue? Any ideas to help ensure I don't leave gunk behind thinking it's just glue?

No, you're stuck with the glue (no pun intended).

I too have a lot of glue on my teeth, and it doesn't look nice, it extends quite a bit around the bracket. My daughter goes to the same ortho and I can't see the glue on her teeth. I think I may ask my ortho to remove some of it.

I can't see any bonding around my brackets. I did have a spot of bonding on the corner of my tooth which I showed to the assistant and had her remove. But the bonding wasn't white like the ones I've been seeing on many here. The bonding on mine is clear, looks like ice so it is very difficult to even see the excess if any.
