I couldn't eat for about 3 days and NOT because of the pain. It just felt soo weird and disgusting to have food go between my wire and get stuck on the brackets, I also felt like I was going to be chewing on one of the brakets soon or the elastics so I would get really really nauseous when I'd put food in my mouth, so I wouldn't even eat more than 2 bites, so instead I had alot of apple sause and shakes. Less than a week later though and I forgot I had anything in my mouth.
We get used to things - fast.So congrats to you all newly braced and welcome!
