Chickenlittle: I'm am so glad that you are feeling great! Now you know that whatever comes, you'll get through it. OverJetSet, I almost snorted water out of my nose when I read your post on the linguini...yep, that's the way it is! I cut up all my pasta now after my first experience.

  "Whinge"-in Australia is a whiner. Someone that is always complaining which I have done for the past 3 days

Yes is derogatory, but I knew I was being a sook so I guess that makes it ok!

Soooo funny about the pasta!! I havent progressed past soup, yoghurt and scrambled eggs yet.

I am trying gnocchi tonight so we will see how that goes!

ps The "footy" was great. Both boys scored tries and are very happy with themselves. Weather was gorgeous too!

chicken little......

remember this....the brackets only feel like they are sticking way out. They aren't as bad as you think. In fact, I had one good friend of mine say that they actually filled my face out nicely.

I have started to think of my braces as "teeth jewelry". My kids (16 and 18 yrs old) call them my "Bling". (They both had braces for about 2 years each, so I can't do much whining!) Try that one on for size. LOL!

Somebody earlier mentioned a similarity to a cast if you broke a bone, well I did that too! TWO weeks before getting braced back in January while mountain biking! talk about attention getting huh?? Now I obviously don't recommend going out and breaking anything by any means!

Once you become confident with your braces; many of these issues simply won't bother you. Oh, and don't forget to use humor; what great medicine!!! I was telling people that 2008 was my year to do some things I missed out on when I was 14......lol (Break my leg, get braces....geesh, what's next???)

All the best to you and yes, this site and it's members are SO helpful!!!!! If you have some time, definitely read some of Lynn's orthodontic journal too......it really hit home for me (especially the earlier stages)

Take care and know that we're all here for you!!!

1 month ~ 1 week ~ 2 days since i've been braced...but who's counting?

Christine
