I've been away for awhile, haven't checked in here much. I've been sick of these things for a long long time now. This is month 21 now, estimated time in braces was 18-22 months. Still need to close a gap on the top right, and a few other small tweaks, like the tiny gap between my front two. Here are the pics:

I got these on right after my 21st birthday, I'd like them off by my 23rd (june).. I just get worried when I asked my orthodontist for an estimate last he said May at the earliest or sometime this summer.. Overall I'm very unhappy with my orthodontist, but as I've paid him in full already I can't really change. He's said that they dont do any shaping of teeth, like I've heard other people say their orthos do. He says thats for the dentists. When I first got these things on, the elastic hook on my right upper canine was jamming into my gums, and he told me the tooth would rotate and it would be out of my gum, hasn't happened. Also said I'd get elastics to pull down my canines some so they look like canines should, hasn't happened. My bite is still jacked up, it would be okay but when i bite down on my back teeth it feels like theres way to much pressure from my bottom front teeth on to the back of my upper teeth. I'm long past frustrated.

The one bit of IPR he mentioned doing was to get rid of the triangle gap between my two front teeth, where my cosmetic bonding isn't straight and causes it

Hang in there!

My ortho's original estimate was 2 to 2.5 years. Well, tomorrow they are coming off, and I'll have had them on for 2.25 years. Like you, I'm pretty tired of them by now, but they did their job and I'm very pleased with the progress that was made.

Just hang in there, before you know it, you'll get debanded! And then you will be so happy with your new look.
