Anyone with small teeth?

#1 Post by cersepn »

I can't remember if my adult teeth was this small to begin with, or because of the grinding for a few years. Anyhow, i've been wearing night guards for around 5 years already.
Strangely, my front teeth don't look worn down at all, yet they're not really that tall and big. I suspect i used to grind in a side to side motion, hence, the unaffected front. The sides and molars are obviously pretty worn, with my side teeth kind of looking like canine teeth instead of having the usual square shape T_T
I'm quite concerned with how my smile will look after the braces treatment since it wouldn't be as large and there will be lesser white.
Was wondering if there was a procedure to sort of give the teeth a longer look.
Anyone with the same experience?

My teeth are pretty small. My sides look like canines because they are rotated. I am going to have a little bonding done when I am done with ortho treatment to round out the look a bit.

I have 2 tiny teeth beside my front middle teeth and I was told they were going to be "built up" at some point in my treatment. My bracket on one of my teeth is almost the size of my tooth, so I am looking forward to having the tooth made bigger.

I don't know what can be done if your teeth are smaller because of grinding. I would talk with the ortho I guess - maybe capping or building some up might work???

All four of my front teeth were pretty small but the wire and the elastics have yanked them down and they are starting to look long and normal..I'm not sure how small your teeth are, but you can always ask your ortho if this problem will be fixed in the course of the treatment or is something you will need to get fixed some other way.

good luck!

My teeth are all very small - all naturally though.

In molar band sizes my ortho said the average was 18 and mine are a 6 - that's two thirds smaller than the average!! Woah! I don't think I'll ever get them looking big - but I've been told that by moving them outwards my grin will be "toothier" and less "gummy"

I'm not sure if your case would be the same but shifting your teeth around could make them look more prominent :)

My teeth aren't big

I think they are within normal limits, but definitely smaller than many. But now that the braces came off, I think they are bigger. You know why? Some of them were up higher in the gums and the braces pulled them down a bit. So don't worry too much. In the end you'll going to love your look.
