Hi!

I posted about getting fitted with twin block braces here viewtopic.php?t=24814

Yesterday, I went to my first post fitting consult. It started out with a whole bunch of questions. For some reason I felt kind of silly sitting there in braces answering questions about my braces, with my rather annoying lisp, but I got through it.

After that, my ortho looked around my mouth and commented on how much expansion I already had. I have noticed how I have a gap between my top teeth. It looks bad, but I was assured, again, it would close soon after I finish the expansion part of my treatment.

Next, I got to remove the braces and sit there while they were tightened. They don't look different now, but when I put them back in they sure felt tight! They also made my jaw go further back when I bit in them.

A few hours after my consult I was in serous pain. Much more so than when I first got the braces. It got better with ibuprofen, but I am sticking to soft foods for a few days, since I am still very tender.

So, the bottom line is I am not really happy right now, but I guess I'll survive! I have to go back in three weeks for another adjustment. Wish me luck!
