Personally, I have doubled triangles in front (bec I break them very easily and was told by my ortho to double them up) and then elastics on my first molars going from top to bottom. All are Rams, used with Damon's. I have been in elastics since I started braces and have been told to expect them for the entire treatment. I used to have crossbite elastics in back, but they are not being used anymore.

Previously the small heavy elastics from upper canines to lower 2nd molars to close 4 gaps.

Now a triangle pattern to tweak my bite on one side.

You didn't mention what your elastics look like right now..

I have a class II on my left and a class II on my right. I just switched from having a class III on my left and class II on my right. Rubberbands are kind of fun, especially when they fly out of my mouth when they break. :?
Upper and lower 1st premolars extracted
Uppers braced 4/6/07 & Lowers braced 4/20/07
ceramic brackets and rectangular arch wires
Est. term: 30-36 months
De-banded: 3/04/09 w/ LBR and U&L Essix

I had mine on from Day 1....back bottom molars to the upper front insiscors....I hated having to put them in at first, but soon got used to it and looked forward to the day my braces were adjusted and I'd get new elastic bands, which was for most of the 24 odd months I had to wear braces for.So Don't fret....they are cool to wear and it's great looking in the mirror while you thread them in...

I had 'L' shape ones for a while. They went from top canine, to bottom canine, then pulled back along the bottom to the back molar. Made an upside down L shape on either side. I now have two elastics going from upper canine to bottom molar (2 on each side) double the strength!!!! :D
