thicker wire?!?!?!?

#1 Post by hank hill »

at my last adjustment i got a thicker wire put on. She showed it to me and ya it was alot thicker. She said it was because my teeth were pretty much aligned ( and ive only had them for 3 months werid).

But wait. That doesnt meake sence. Or does it?

if they are aligned then why a thicker wire? anyone know???

I'ts not strange at all.My teeth were severely crowded and it took about 5 months to get them aligned but I was nowhere near finished yet.At that time I was switched over to much thicker wires . The thin wires just align the teeth easier than thicker wires. The thicker wires adjusts the roots of your teeth that take much longer to move. I remember seeing how straight my teeth looked but I had an X-ray taken and the roots were not yet in their proper positions ,that took several months later.

If one's teeth have aligned quicker than expected, does it follow that one's roots will also move quicker than expected, you think? I think for an adult, my teeth have been moving pretty quickly and it's been only 2 months. I'm hoping that I'll be ready for surgery sooner than the predicted 12 months estimate.
