Will top teeth hit lower brackets again in later stages?

#1 Post by sean83 »

I ask this question because they did at first, and now they don't. But as my top teeth are forced back into position, will this problem reappear?
It's all gone a bit dental...

I'm nearing the end of treatment (I hope only a couple months left) and my top front teeth also just barely touch my bottom brackets, but my bite closes completely and I've had no problems. They've been like this for about four months now.

You might have problems hitting brackets again, I know I have. My bite planes/ bite turbos have been built up and torn down and replaced a few times in my treatment. I currently have a set of them behind my 2 front teeth :)

I didn't have any problems with my front top teeth to knock out my bottom brackest because of my overjet. I had a deepbite all over the mouth. I had to have a biteplate, because otherwise I would have knocked off rest of the brakets...

Well, finally I got rid of my biteplate, but several months later I started to bite brackest off on my left side. My bite had changed and the brackets had to be repositioned. So, it might happen that in some point off your treatment you can start to bite brackest off again... But there will be solution for that, so no worries!
