I learned last night that Listerine whitening mouthwash plus expander equals gross. I don't know if the hydrogen peroxide in the mouthwash reacted with the metal in my expander or what, but it was nasty and I won't be doing that again.
I'm thinking about picking up some Biotene. It's supposed to help alleviate dry mouth and help with minor mouth irritations - perfect for bracefaces, right?
What is your favorite mouthwash?
Lower braces: 7/1/08
Expander installed: 7/8/08
SARPE: 7/15/08
First adjustment for lowers: 8/5/08
Expander tied: 8/11/08
Upper braces: 8/28/08
Lefort I & BSSO: 1/8/13
A fluoride rinse is a good precaution whilst braced.
Is that a precaution against cavities? Or something else?
And that also makes me wonder - why doesn't the dentist give a fluoride rinse at the end of regular cleanings for adults? Do they think our teeth are too old to be helped by it?

my dentist does a fluoride rinse after cleanings ... maybe you have to mention it ... I mean they can't (or shouldn't) tell you "no"
