Very back molars..............
I have a question about the very back molars that they didn't put brackets on. I am starting to get some separation from them due to everything coming forward. Do they move forward on their own or will they put brackets on them later or what? Just curious how this process works.
I'll assume you're not talking about wisdom teeth.
My upper second molars weren't braced until my 6th month of treatment. My orthodontist told me they're often left unbraced because they may already be in a desired position as their placement dictates the overall shape of the arch. In my case, they were braced to correct rotation and inward tilting.

30 Aug 2010 - New bracket brand placed on upper four incisors.
Initial Ortho Sentence: 18-20 months.

I don't have my wisdom teeth. Been gone for several years. They took out the my 2 upper pre molars and my lower 2 pre molars before treatment. I have been braced now for about 7 months and my back teeth are slowly but surely coming forward starting to close those gaps just a little now that I just got hybrid wires on top and bottom recently. I am seeing more spacing in the back and was just curious how those molars will come forward.
My wisdom teeth were removed and only my #6 molars were banded, leaving #7 unbanded.
At my last adjustment, my ortho banded the lower two #7s. I was in shock... but he assured me that now's the time to bring them in line with the rest. And the upper two #7s will also be banded in time.
I'm just relieved that he didn't band them all at once and I had time to enjoy normal flossing between some teeth and considerably less discomfort. The new lower bands really cut up my tongue and mouth and I'm still heavily waxing them.

I think that I am one of very few people who still have my wisdom teeth! I am very lucky that all 4 came in nice and straight. They also came early, when I was about 15 or 16!
They didn't brace any of them, and I asked about that because I was also concerned with gaps. They said that the teeth would most likely drift forward (which they have) and that if they didn't, the office would bracket them and pull them forward.
