hey, seriously the I A is fantastic...i will show ur pics when it s gonna be finished. my lower teeth were so bad but now it s almost straight after 6 weeks 7 weeks...so don t hesitate ...

Well at the begining, I ve worn it for 23 hours but the dentist told me to wear it for less than 20 hours. You really don t feel any pain...to be honest, it s just the first day...but after, nothin at all... I was supposed to wear for the uper teeth but he said that an invisalign aligner would be suitable...so, i m so happy. my only problem is to choose the retainer...he told me that the fixed one is better...

Hi all! ive made it to 6 weeks and have now seen a HUGE difference! so amazing. anybody thinking about using the inman, if its do-able on you- go ahead! due my 2nd check-up next week for some tweaking. Have been wearing it just under 20hrs a day. after 4 weeks there was a visible difference which the dentist noticed and showed before and after pics. I was told it is rare for such movement in the first month, but its due to wearing it for that amount of time. I know some people cant wear it during work, however I have got along fine by having it out between 10am-2pm, and when its in, popping it out to answer phonecalls and eat. Thats how I get around it, but I understand it might not be possible for others.

Hi Fostino, got mine in Sutton Cross Dental practice.

The speach is a problem but it is improving and definitely find the more I speak the better it gets. Am wearing it to work and intend to wear it for the max time possible.

Just wondering how everyone cleans theirs? Do you just rinse it or use anything specific? I saw in an earlier post someone used a bath but if you are not using one of those what do you do?

I use the bath that it came in. did you get a blue inman aligner holder with it? i fill half of that with hot water and use a denture tablet/steredent, leave it for 10/15 mins. I also take it out and brush it with toothbrush whilst doing my teeth with a bit of toothpaste and rinse it off.

Hello Everyone,

Just thought it was time to update you on my progress.

It is now been just over a month since I started wearing my aligner. As some of you may remember I had a huge problem at first with gagging but once my mouth had gotten used to having it in there I was fine. I have been wearing my aligner every night since I got it and as much as I can otherwise. My speech still hasn't got any better but I just make a joke out of it. My teeth have definatly moved! I was always very consious of my front teeth as one stuck out a lot but now it only has a maybe 2 mms to go back and they will be straight.

I am back at the dentist tomorrow to have a blue filling fitted to the back of my front teeth to stop the middle part of my brace falling down and probably more filing.

I totally recommend my dentist Kiss Dental in Flixton (nr The Trafford Centre), Manchester.

Edit - Forgot to mention that my brace has been tightened by putting something on the end of the springs. One fell off in the night and I woke up thinking it was my tooth ... not very nice to wake up to!

i am new to this forum and i have found all your responses very useful..the last one left by 'sherral' about kiss dental in manchester..interested me the most as i am based in manchester..
im looking to get the IA as a xmas present to myself and was wondering how much it cost you at kiss dental..
im hoping this is money well spent, so far all the info has been great so once again i say..

Hi all,

I was considering Invisalign but the cheapest quote i had was Â£2500 which is a little expensive so I am looking at the inman aligner instead as its much cheaper and quicker. One of my top two teeth crosses the other and the two either side of these stick out a little. Ive booked 2 consulations in January but have have a few questions if anyone can help?

Firstly, ive been quoted a price of Â£1400 for just the top teeth. Is this reasonable or should I be looking to get it cheaper?? It would be good to see what others paid as I dont want to get ripped off.

Secondly, i have a few fillings to the rear of my mouth and im naturally thinking that the metal of the aligner will sit rather uncomfortably ontop of these. Has anyone else had this problem or can they be designed to fit around fillings?

and finally, how long after your first consultation do you usually get the aligner?

All views/answers will be much appreciated!

Blue revolution, Â£1400 sounds about right for your top teeth. I don't think the fillings would be a problem, the brackets on mine kind of sit around my teeth rather than directly on a tooth so shouldn't be an issue.

I have my inman on now for 4 days. My speech has definitely improved and is improving every day.

Have a question though.... when i got it the dentist said that its better if the bit at the back of the teeth is as high on the teeth as possible. First few days were fine, put it in and then pushed it up and it sat there. Is it possible that my teeth have started to move already because now a while after pushing it up it falls down a little bit? Still pressure there so I presume it fine. Main problem is that my speach was better when it was higher!! Dentist said that he would be putting composit fillings on to deal with this at the next visit.

Hey Glad to see the board is working again.

I think that Kiss Dental is a very good dentist. I see Dr Simon Li who is obviously working very hard within his field to continue to perfect peoples smiles. I paid Â£1500 for my brace and all the appointments I need which included xrays, moulds etc... It was a lot of money to pay out but I had been made redundant earlier in the year so I had redundancy pay to splash about. Its something I wanted fixing for a long time so when I got the money I knew that was what I had to spend it on.

The only bad point about Kiss Dental is that it is in Flixton near the trafford centre. I dont drive so it takes an hour to get there on the bus from Manchester City Centre.

It has now been 2 and a half months since I started wearing my brace and my teeth are straight! My front teeth are a little wobbly (I emailed Simon and he said this was normal) and if I leave my brace out they go crooked again but I am soooo happy! I have gone from hiding my mouth in every photo to asking people to look at my teeth. Back to the dentist tomorrow for hopefully more tightening and less filing.

Can I ask everyone-how long did you all have the inman before you noticed any significant movement? (I don't mean the feeling of them being loose and moving but more that they had visibly moved towards where you wanted them to be)

I've more or less finished now, been wearing a clear for the last couple of months. I have one more to go and thats it. V pleased with the results!

I had this problem also. Mention it to your dentist. Mine made a little 'ledge' for it to sit on and I think due to having something strange thing on one of my teeth it has made me wear my brace more. Also it is alot more comfortable. Saying that... I cant wait until it is off. Feels so strange having an extra bit on my tooth.

I am currently having the same problems.

Initially, I had a bump thing added to the back of my tooth, it felt weird for a few days, but was out of sight, and stopped the back part sliding down.

However, the opposite started happening, and the front started sliding up, especially when the spring became weaker.

So he has added a bump to my front of the tooth as well now, which is visible.

Only problem is the back part keeps sliding down, even over the bump.

It is getting annoying, so any tips would be great.

BTW, had mine for almost 3 months now. Not wore it as much as I should have, and the weakness of the spring at times has slowed the progress. But it seems close to the point where the two teeth at the side of my front teeth are almost ready to be able to go backwards. i.e the other 2 teeth are not fully behind them. Probably a couple more weeks to go for that, and then a month or so more to push them back.
