Reason for mouth now with a bad "cant"?

#1 Post by Kat »

I have noticed my bottom teeth looking like they are falling to the right on the right bottom jaw.

Ortho says it's the "cant" and it's normal. Never had this in my life until NOW!
There was a losided thread the other day that touched on this..
Anyway when I talk it looks like I am sort of talking out of the right side of my mouth because the teeth are not straight across like the tops and like they way they are suposed to be. I wish I could post a pic but can't.

I never had this. Ever. I've looked at pics when just braces and It's not there.

Talked to the ortho yesterday and he looks and says it's the way my jaw is shaped!!!

No matter how I try to convince him it sucks to be like this he feels it's ok showing me his "cant".
I put these braces on pretty much for making my teeth look better, not to have crooked teeth which were not bad in the first place. Now instead of having crooked teeth to be ashamed of everytime I smile now I have this crooked looking smile.

What can I do about this.
I feel like getting a second opinion but do not want to have to do this. Nor do I want braces ever again.
I just want them correct.
They'd look very nice if I just didn't have this going on.

Anyone?

I have posted about this before in another thread. Same as you, right lowers falling down.

I have this "cant" since month 2 or 3 . I didn't have it before and it looks pretty bad. I wish you had a picture you can post.

I asked the ortho about this and he said not to worry and to be patience. I also asked my dentist at my last cleaning and he didnt seem worried. I am trying to stay positive and trust my ortho. During my last adjustment he gave me box elastics on the front to close the gap that formed and its helping with that but still is canted.

I don't know how much longet to wait.

I know this wasn't an answer but at least you can feel you are not the only one in this situation. Lets hope things start to fall into place :)
