Is it normal for your front tooth to feel loose starting 9 months post braces and be loose for going on two weeks? It feels weird when I run my tongue over it, like it is not a part of my mouth like the rest of my teeth.
Also there is a faint click sound every time my lip or tongue moves over it. I'm really scared now.
I told my ortho about it during my last visit and says it's normal. But I think I have to make him realize how serious I am....this feels creepy.
My gum over that tooth is slightly receded... almost unnoticeable. But it's big to me as I have read how braces and receding gums can cause tooth loss. *sigh*
I will be seeing my ortho on Thursday, but I'd really like to hear about someone, anyone's experience.
Loose front tooth for waaay too long now

While your teeth are moving, they will feel loose, sometimes for weeks at a time. They will firm up once the gum tissue adjusts to the new positions. This can take a while, because they won't really firm up as much until the tooth isn't being moved.

Once your braces come off your teeth have the tendency to go back to where they were. Your teeth have memory per say. Your bone needs time to reabsorb the tooth and keep it in place. And even then the teeth want to gravitate back to where they were. Make sure that you where your retainer. Some people have to have perminent retainers or they have to were their retainers for the rest of their lives.
Talk to your ortho about it. You might need a gum graft for the reeced (depending how bad it is)
