I have had braces for 19 months with no sensitivity issues. I have had rubber bands for about 3 weeks now. Last night when I was brushing, I had just put the toothbrush on the lower left quadrant to start brushing, and just the touch from the toothbrush caused me to jump out of my skin, I couldn't even really brush on that side. is this normal?
I'm really not sure, but have you tried salt water rinses? I read about it in the forums a while back saying that it helps with tooth sensitivity. I would try that or maybe someone else has an idea. If it's extremely painful, I would call the ortho, or maybe call them anyways, to see if they can recommend something.
