pic of my new smile and a few questions

I will have the bottoms put on in about two weeks.

My Gums bleed in some spots when i brush just above my gum line, maybe I am brushing too hard? In the back there is not much space in some place between the braces and gums, in some places there seems to be none at all. My teeth are small and the braces are high up in the back.

I brush about 4-6 min with my oral-B, then about 1-2 min with my tooth brush (soft) 2x per day, then between meals I use my tooth brush and interdental brush, and I floss EVERY night.

Also, the spacers seems to be in my Gums, like my gums are growing over them a little and it hurts.....alot, is this normal? I have them in for another 2 weeks (its been one so far). I am scared I will get cavities as I cant floss there and food seems to get in there.

wow your space is just as big as mine along with the large frenulum. i just had my braces put on a couple hours ago, both top and bottom using the damon braces to close the gap i have which was inherited from my mother and her mother.

i tried brushing my teeth with my normal toothbrush which are medium bristles and that just is not working. i had a easier time brushing with the soft bristle toothbrush. i do plan on gettin an electric toothbrush before the week is over. it is true about braces, you have to brush like after each meal or else there might be some food stuck between your braces. after i got my braces put on i went to mcdonalds to get a milkshake and some fries, and yes, the fries did get stuck between my braces.

i will put some pictures up of me naked before the braces showing off my gap and with the braces before the week is over.

They are going to remove the frenulum sometime during my treatment, something I am not looking forward to.

oh yes, i was referring to pictures of my teeth naked, not me, i'm not trying to get banned from this forum :)

i have read on this forum that this procedure is not as bad as it seems and takes about 5 minutes. seems as though there is some discomfort for a day and then that is it. i plan on having the same procedure done too.

It sounds like you brush excessively. Maybe you should consider cutting down to 3-4 minutes maximum each time.
Age 23. Midline off by 5mm, lots of crowding, and a tooth on top of a tooth.

Thank you. Its hard to cut down because my teeth NEVER feel clean, no matter how much I brush, they just feel dirty, its weird.

To floss under the spacers get some floss needles. They will allow you to "thread" the floss under the spacers. Just be sure to pull the floss straight out and not up as this could pop your spacers out.
