Anyone have a closed bite & how long did you wear braces

Anyone have a closed bite & how long did you wear braces

Im in 11 days of braces, got them b/c I was told I have a closed bite. Just wanted to see who else out there has had this issue, how long did you wear braces or have to wear braces, did you wear elastics or any other equipment to correct it, what was the outcome?

Im not sure what you mean by "closed bite"? Your bite is supposed to be closed or else it would be an open bite and you would not be able to chew properly. Im working on closing my bite now with elastics. Did you maybe mean something like an overbite where your top teeth overlap your bottom teeth too much?

judging from the other post it is a class II malocclusion, overbite

Yeah, when my mouth is closed my top teeth touch my bottom gum line. Idk, lol, I thought it was called a closed bite :P

Ah yes then that is called an overbite. I don't have personal experience with that, actually more like I had the opposite of that... but I think treatment depends on your specific case. Sometimes its corrected with braces and elastics, they can also use closing loop archwires, and some people get jaw surgery. There are probably other ways too but its definitely treatable and pretty common on these boards :) Im sure you're teeth will look fantastic when its all done! Good luck!!
