Yay I just paid my braces off!

WooHoo.

I had $3500 remaining, and I just called up and paid for them.

I have paid them off in 6 months... all $6,000 of them!

Yay it feels nice :D And my reasoning for paying them off? In Australia we can claim back 20% of the cost over $1500... I also have about $500 of other medical expenses to claim. So I can claim 20% of $5000. SO I will get an extra $1000 back on my tax return :D Woohoo.

Congrats! Gee, now you've got extra money you have to figure out how to spend! What a tough situation to be in!

Another fellow Brisbanite here.

Will be paying mine off in the new financial year , except for the last $750 which I will claim from my health cover in the next financial year.

You've really got to look at all the options and work out how best paying off your braces can benefit you.

Am having jaw surgery early next year (start of the new Medicare calendar year) so then I will hit the 'safety net' straight up for the year and get all of my doctors appointments/xrays etc 99 % refunded for me and my family :D Happy days, gotta get what you can
