Mint wax is actually ok when I put it on but I hate tasting mint whenever I'm eating or drinking. Yuck.
The main problem is that I've checked several local stores and they don't carry unflavored wax. It's all mint!
Also, where can I find the silicon that some folks use instead of wax? I'd like to give it a try.

Who thought that mint wax was a good idea?!?

Yes, the wax we sell at DentaKit is unflavored and unscented.

Orthosil
The silicone that you're talking about is called Orthosil and I personally think it's the best stuff ever. It's smooth, tasteless and doesn't feel like a wad of hard gum sticking to my teeth. HOWEVER, before ordering you have to know that they really are being truthful when they tell you that the entire bracket/tooth has to be dry.
Braced: 20 months March 2009-November 2010
Has anyone else tried using silicone ear plugs?
Mack's brand is sold everywhere. The kids version comes in bright orange and green.
