Is it okay to ask for x-rays from a previous othro to give to the other othro?

They have to give they them to you. They are your xrays. You can take your record if you want to. They may give you a copy, but it's still your record and xrays.

When I had the xrays done I actually requested they send a copy to my dentist and they said that it's pretty common to do that.

Also I'm not sure if this is like your situation at all, but I'll be changing orthodontists in the middle of my treatment because I'll be moving and they pretty much said that there is a fee for the molds and xrays and records and all that jazz (right now you're paying for it in your payment plan, but you'd pay it straight up if you switch out now) but that when I switch all that will go with me, and they'll just figure out the cost of the work they've done so far and adjust the ballence accordingly. Then I'll figure out a new payment plan with the new ortho.

Hope that helps :)
