Finally after 6 months

#1 Post by Star »

I had my bottom damon brackets attached to my lower jaw as well as 2 more sets of coiled springs... oh goody:) and finally my upper back last molars were finally bracketed and wired. Those puppys hurt more than then having the lower brackets and wires put on. I'm all good now. Back to eating all my fav foods. My ortho ordered my" falsey" tooth on July 16th. Still waiting on the call that it's in and I can go in and have it attached to my wire. I hate having this large whole in the front of the teeth. I know people are looking at it when I talk and it makes me feel so uncomfortable. So hopefully when I take my oldest son in for his adjustment next week, I can ask if it's and maybe they will place it for me then. I'm also done wearing that dreaded bite plate. I hated that thing. My ortho made my day when he said I was done wearing it. YIPPEE!!!! Now I wear 2 sets of elastics on each side. They didn't tell me how I'm suppose to wear them. I have 2 sets of buttons attached to the inside of my upper molars and one bracket on the bottom with a hook. Am I suppose to criss cross them or wear them straight down? I've been doing the crossing and so far I can finally feel my last 2 upper and lower molars on the right finally touching when I bite down which they have never done before. Thanks for input!!!

You should definitely talk to your orthodontist about the rubber bands because it would stink to be pulling in the wrong direction. Also what exactly is a bite plate? What does it do?
People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.
