I have a Class 2 Malocclusion, and have had upper and lower braces now for 4 months. As far as I can tell my teeth now look perfectly straight and even.
Clearly with straightening out my upper teeth my lower jaw looks even more receded, and jaw surgery to move my lower jaw forward 9mm was always part of the plan.
I was initally told I would have braces for 12 months, then jaw surgery, then whatever other time was need to sort things out. I can't see why I need to wait a further 8 months for surgery when it looks fine now. I just want to get it over with!
I have my 3rd adjustment in about 3 weeks, so will ask my ortho about this then, but was just wondering if others are in the same position. What is all the extra waiting about? Am I just being impatient?
Are they just wasting my time??

dont take it wrong: impatient but also "ignorant"Le wrote: I have my 3rd adjustment in about 3 weeks, so will ask my ortho about this then, but was just wondering if others are in the same position. What is all the extra waiting about? Am I just being impatient?
ortho need to move roots; as with iceberg, the visible side is far from the whole thing
also the ortho will want to get your bite fixed very well for the surgery, alignment and bite isnt 100% the same thing
be patient mate but dont be hesitant to ask things to your ortho
