deep bite and elastics - a question

#1 Post by haywire »

did anyone had/has deep bite and started the treatment with elastics?

i wanna know how long the process is, my teeth straighten very fast, but how will my bite be corrected compared to that? is takes like 3-4 months or more?

Ha, two years into treatment and I just finally got my complete lower braces yesterday. Up until this point they had only my uppers on to straighten that arch along with pulling up two lower teeth that were banded. They have been using elastics to pull those teeth up to meet my top teeth [my deep bite didn't allow them to rupture up and out as far as they should have], and so far it's been moving them up. I expect soon to wear more elastics to pull more lower teeth up higher to meet the top teeth without creating such a deep bite. Right now, I actually have an overbite after correcting the top arch, so I suspect a lot of elastics in my future, actually. :/
