Today was my first day in braces. Got them first thing this morning. Stainless steel on top and bottom. I have bands on 3 molars.
I wanted to say thanks to everyone here. I had a much better idea of what to expect and what foods to have ready for today.
My ortho told me 24 months so it should be a very interesting 2 years and I'm glad I went through with getting them. I couldn't have done it without my wife's encouragement and support.
I have had mine for almost two weeks. It feels as if they aren't even there. I think you will be eating regularly in about a week or so. I can't imagine guys not being able to eat like they usuall do for too long!
Good luck and keep posting!
That is very cute that your wife is so supportive. My husband is very sweet and supportive too. It really helps. Maybe you will get a color next time. I want to try pink after a few times. I don't have braces yet, but I will hopefully be getting them soon. Just think, in the end, it will be worth it!
Yes the eating is the hardest part right now. I eat a lot slower. I also eat fewer times so I don't have to brush as often. But I could stand to lose a few pounds
My wife is amazing - she's made things so much easier for me. I had my first day at work and it wasn't bad at all so I'm feeling really good about going through with it and what the end result will be.
