My husband said all the right things to the girls. Told them how he liked their ligs and assured them their smiles would be beautiful. Then he asked me to open up and I flashed him my new mouth. He hesitated a moment then said I looked younger, even cute and he loved my new lisp. He thinks it's cute, but why are you pouting? :-(( Because I can't fully close my lips without pouting . :-(( I never expected to have my appearance changed when mymouth was closed. He partially redeemed himself when he said he loved my new lip gloss.

"So, you just let people have their way with your mouth?" LOL. Exact quotes.

My boyfriend was also very supportive and said they weren't bad and looked cute. He had been supportive since the day I started talking about getting braces.
However, I don't find them cute at all and regret not getting the Invisalign instead of the regular braces... (I have ceramic on uppers and metal ones on lower teeth). I work with the public and I find it awkward.. I also haven't smiled in any photos in the last month!
Braced (upper and lower): August 10th 2009
Wisdom teeth extracted: August 25th 2009
Appointment #2: September 22nd
Treatment length: 18-19 months

Like many of the other people here, my husband said that he thought they were cute! He doesn't notice them anymore but I have noticed that he is a lot more self concious about his teeth now.
2 Years 4 months 3 weeks and 4 days in full metal braces!

Wow I think my boyfriend is a jerk now after reading what everyone else's said to them. He was horrified by the idea of me getting braces and when he first saw me said, "OH MY GOD." Now after almost five months being braced, I was complaining the other day about my braces, and his response was, "your teeth look a thousand times better now than they did before you had braces." So i guess he doesn't mind them anymore, still- not the most supportive guy in the world...

When I got braces my now ex boyfriend really didn't say anything about them. He just handed me a chocolate milkshake which was my breakfast. Later on that night he told me he barely noticed them and that I had made the right choice and that this would not change how he felt about me in the slighest. Turns out that was the only thing he was honest about though.

Does it hurt? After that, he told me he was proud of me for getting braces since my parents would never pay for them growing up.

My boyfriend has been very supportive and thinks I'm too shy about them! The only thing he says he doesn't like about them is that I don't smile as big as I used to! Wait till they come off honey...I'm sure I will be an ear-to-ear grinning fool!

But really, he says they are "cute". I call them "my grill"...so we have fun with it. We have also had some laughs..I launched a salad on the floor in a restaurant cutting it up (dressing is slippery!), I can't whistle (which gives him hours of entertainment), and my waterpik ( he makes fun...but really, I know he wants to use it too).

My husband is really sweet and supportive. I don't have braces yet, but he says that he will go with me when I get them on, and he thinks I will look cute with braces. I love him.
