Is my tooth moving the wrong way?

#1 Post by letigrelady »

I got my braces two days ago, my front two teeth are crooked- they over lap. I feel like my tooth that overlaps is getting more overlapped and is pushing inwards towards my mouth - the bracket seems not so central as the others but that might be intentional?

Can someone give me some advice - I'm having a bit of a worry ( and my teeth really hurt so that doesn't help)

Should I call my dentist on Monday.?
At the moment I dont know how i'm going to do this for 6 months ( I know im lucky to only have 6 months) but its making me feel pretty down today.

Braces aren't always so straightforward as we might think they should be :) Sometimes things need to get worse before they get better, and correct placement of teeth, and general movement takes time

And at the start of treatment things will be up and down, but eventually the braces will do their job and your teeth will move to their right places. The pain should subside soon anyway, and you'll get used to them. After this initial period of pain and uncertainty, once things settle, the 6 months will go by in no time! (how jealous am I? I've had mine for nearly 2 years!)

Yep, Crazy Beautiful is right....I've been in braces just over a year and have seen all kinds of crazy stuff from teeth that overlap to gaps in between teeth that weren't there before. Rest assured that your ortho has an exact prescription for your and your mouth! Good luck to you!!! It's worth it!!! :-)
