Looking at your mouth?
Am I the only one feeling that some pwople rather look at my mouth/teeth braces than into my eyes while talking to them? Some even licking their own teeth (sub-consciously I suppose). I find it so annoying sometimes. Has anyone else experienced this?
I have only found this when speaking with someone who is young. I never had this happen to my knowledge until I was at a register paying for something and a young girl, probably 21 or so, was gabbing on about life to me and couldn't stop looking at my mouth. I feel confident in my smile, especially since it is improving day by day. I have powerchains on and I actually think they look kinda cute (at least better than just the wires) I suppose they look "white". But most grown adults who I come into contact with can really be mature and keep form staring!

I usually take it as a compliment when people look into my mouth Of course, I wish they would pay more attention, but at the same time, a lot of them are noticing my treatment when they look at all that metal. I used to think I showed my braces off when I talked, but I have found that they're barely noticeable. Maybe people admire you for what you're doing--for some, the costs of braces are unrealistic
About three months ago I had a job interview where one of the interviewers sat with his hands over his mouth the whole time. I have never been interviewed like that before and felt it was a reaction to my braces.
It was awful - I wanted to die! - but it wasn't my problem it was his. I don't enjoy interviews at the best of times so I felt like getting up and walking out!

I find myself staring into peoples mouths now that I want braces instead of looking into their eyes . I look at everyones teeth now. I don’t mean any harm. I’m just obsessed with teeth right now. It seems that everyone can benefit from braces in one form or another. I never paid any attention to how crooked or straight someones teeth are unless they were extremely pretty or extremely messed up. I’ve come across a lot of adults who said they wore braces as a kid and now their teeth are crooked again. You can tell they stopped wearing their retainers. My coworker said she removed her own braces. (yikes)
