Howdy!

Howdy Petitcanard!

I hope things are going very well. Your into your sixth day meaning the pain should have subsided for the most part and your probably able to incorporate a lot more things into your diet besides mashed potatoes, smoothies, soup, ice cream and anything else that does not pose as a threat to mouth pain. The best part about this site is being able to be the cheerleader for the newly braced Image. I probably could have used it too because I was so anxious, excited, nervous, scared, and confused all-in-one. I was a total mess trying to keep my composure! So I give you definite kudos for a) being on Archwire to post until the moment and b) admitting you were panicking!

Keep smiling and remember Tin Grins = Cuteness regardless of your age or gender! :P

HeyBuckey, thanks for the cheerleading!! :) It certainly does help!! I'm on day 9 now, doing well and having a work road-trip last week helped keep my mind off things.. well, sort of LOL.

Hey petitcanard...Congratulations! :D I enjoyed your post from last thursday describing your first experiences w/ your braces...I really found it entertaining. I had braces in my late 20s, and your little story brought it all back to me...the funny feeling of the braces in my mouth & the lisp - especially when the bottom brackets went on. Now, years later I'm getting ready for orthodontic treatment again, and hearing about your first day added a little perspective for me. Good luck with everything!

Good luck! Just stock up on soup and portage as you'll be eating just that for a few days. Then it will just feel weird for a few more days, even once the pain has passed.
That will quickly pass and you'll be back to normal after a week or two.

Thanks so much!! And actually, portage sounds more interesting and appealing than porridge!! LOL Curries are actually a godsend at the moment, and I've found stuffed pastas like cannellonis are perfect along with perogies so have some variety worked in with the standard soups and such. :)

Frankly it would be easier if I couldn't chew because I'm sore, because that would go away - the turbos are ubiquitous and thankfully it should just be a few months so I'm counting down the sentence. (she says optimistically) Obviously I'm being punished for my sins, and that being the case I might be stuck with these suckers forever
