Face shape

#1 Post by talisman »

Does anyone know of any computer aided software or an online calculator which works out what your face shape is? (i.e oval, round, oblong, heart, etc)

I'm trying to work out mine.

It shouldn't be too hard to tell your face shape by just looking in a mirror or at a picture.

If your face is round, it's approximately the same width as height.
If your face is oval, it is longer than it is wide, but still rounded.
If your face is square you will have a wider jaw, you can think of this as kind of rectangular.
If your face is heart shaped, your face is rounded but your chin comes to a point.

I read this in a teen magazine years ago... sounds ridiculous but does actually work!

If you have long hair tie it back.
Get a make-up pencil e.g. a lip liner or eye liner pencil.
Look in a mirror from a couple of feet away, keep your head steady and draw a line around the outline of your face on the mirror (around your hairline, not to the top of your head).
Step back and look at the shape of the drawn on outline. It should fit one of the shapes Evilnel mentions. It's a lot easier to look at it objectively this way...
