I've only had one bracket popping off and it convieniently happened on Christmas day! I'm not sure if i've eaten something and its popped off because I didnt feel it happening but I have noticed that the glue around some other brackets has gone from looking clear to being a white colour and it looks like its coming off my teeth. I'll have to mention it at my next visit!
I've only had my braces for about a month and so far one bracket has popped off twice. It was from a tooth that is crowned and my ortho told me that sometimes the glue does not adhere as well to crowns so it wasn't a total surprise. They put in spacers and will be doing a metal band around that tooth when I go back for my palate expander in another week or so.
I had problems with a tooth that would not keep a bracket. The reason is it was rotated and they were putting too much pressure on it and the bracket would pop off. Finally once they got it to rotate it never came off again.
They keep coming off the crowns I have...My ortho is finally going to put spacers in to put the metal band around my teeth. I am not looking forward to the spacers. However, I am tired of going in every 2 weeks to have the brackets placed back on.
The bracket that came loose on me was on a crown also. The ortho said this may happen (especially with crowns) so they put extra bonding and kept it under the light thing for a bit longer. That was 4 months ago and I haven't had anymore problems.
I have two brackets on two molars with crowns and they have never popped off. I know everyone is different and so are their teeth, but perhaps your ortho can cure it longer under the light or something. I'd hate to have spacers then brackets on crowns.
