Occlusal Adjustment

#1 Post by tyeomans »

What is an occlusal adjustment? I am getting my braces off next month, and I have a slight open bite where one of my top canines is located. Does this have anything to do with it?

occ adj is polishing of the teeth to allow the bite to mesh better.

If you have ever had a crown or a filling done before part of the polishing they do is an occ adj but it is just on that one tooth. It is done fairly often -- I just did one the other day. The pt just said "ah, that feels really good"
