Hello everyone, I'm new around here and have been braced for a month. I'm nineteen years old. I had an appointment with my orthodontist today, and it was my first visit ever since I got braces.
He simply replaced the coloured thingies on the brackets and replaced the wire, but from what I understood, he intended on using the same type of wire. My question is, shouldn't he have replaced the wire with one that applies more pressure? And I also get the impression that this one is slightly thinner. I don't want to sound paranoid or nitpicky, but is it possible that he didn't get me the thinnest wire the first time, giving me one that I was only supposed to get later on, which applies more pressure, and he didn't realise that and now swapped it for the one I was supposed to get the first time around?
Thanks in advance.
Question about wire

I heard that you want a constant pressure so I would think that having the same wire for a while would be necessary. I haven't even had my first adjustment yet and I am going on 2 months. Hang in there.

its not uncommon to have the same wire or same wire thickness sometimes. I wouldn't be to worried, there have been several people on here who have asked about this and so I wouldn't threat. Sometimes your teeth aren't quite ready for the next wire or your ortho is intentially keep the wire on for a bit becasue hez working on something in your bite.
If you are concerned just ask your ortho the next time your apt comes around. He or she should be willing to answer your question. That what there there for:)
