1. The human body is perfectly capable of digesting almost anything swallowed whole.

2. Extractions take five minutes. Stop worrying.

3. Many of your adult acquaintances will actually be envious.

4. Sorry, you can't find pictures of other people's teeth which used to look like yours and are now ready for Hollywood.

I haven't had mine for quite a month yet so I appreciate everyone's comments.

One that I have discovered that I didn't see was, putting on lip balm, while necessary more so now than ever, is interesting because I can't quite rub my lips together. (You just tried it, didn't you  )

I have become obsessed with using the WaterPik and seeing what comes out, gross!

I'm approaching the 1 year anniversary for my braces on June 1, so here are mine:

1. I didn't need to spend hours and hours worrying about getting braces and wondering how metal-ish my mouth would be.

2. Most people don't care as much as I thought they would.

3. Having my ortho compliment the cleanliness of my teeth makes me feel like a million bucks.

4. Time flies with braces.

5. I eat pretty much everything I'm not supposed to, except for sticky candy and hard nuts. God bless popcorn.

6. Not to wear my hair in a high sloppy bun, or people will ask me what grade I'm in (I'm 24).

7. I always need my license to drink or buy alcohol, because I ALWAYS get carded now.

8. Having braces nightmares is normal.

9. Cleaning my teeth takes forever, but it's extremely satisfying to complete a full brushing/flossing/waterpiking routine!

10. That I am REALLY glad that I got braces, and don't regret it in the least.
