I'm so excited I finally got braced today! I only got the top row done because of my overbite but I'm so pleased that the braces are finally in my mouth. The procedure wasn't uncomfortable at all although the first time my lips went over the braces it felt really weird and I panicked for a second. Still getting used to the feeling. For some strange reason I keep thinking about the alien in Aliens (the Sigourney Weaver movie), the one with a really huge mouth and really huge protruding teeth. I kept thinking "this is what he must feel like with all that teeth in his mouth." LOL
There was a little boy a couple of chairs down from me in the bay who was having a really rough time. I'm not sure what he was there for but he kept yelling "Ouch, that hurts, that hurts!!!" and sounded like he was crying. Poor thing!
My pasta lunch, which had a ton of tiny herbs and cheese, was a nightmare on the brackets but a good gurgle in the bathroom and a quick floss sorted that out.
I wasn't told the exact number of months. The technician said that the bottom row normally goes in after 6 months but then she looked at my bottom teeth which are really crowded and said that in my case, I might get the bottom row in as early as 4 months from now.
