Need Opinions on Lip Incompetence/Upper Jaw Surgery

Need Opinions on Lip Incompetence/Upper Jaw Surgery

I've been in braces for about 18 months (second round of braces because treatment was unsuccessful the first time). I know for a fact that I need a BSSO and genipolasty, because I have a recessed lower jaw/chin. An oral surgeon also thinks I need a Lefort 1 for a gummy smile/upper jaw that's not forward enough. I know I do not have a gummy smile and I also don't see how my upper jaw is too far back. I had my 4 biscuspids removed about 7 months ago and the gaps haven't completely closed yet. I have lip incompetence which is very annoying. Do you think the lip incompetence will be solved by my extraction sites continuing to close and the BSSO/genioplasty? Do I really even need upper jaw surgery? I would hate to have it if my problems can be solved without it.
