Just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this.......I've had my braces on for 2 months; they're self-ligating/metal. At one point in time during the first month my front teeth seemed to all be pulled forward creating a rabbit tooth look and giving me a overly rounded lip. After my first wire change my teeth seemed to move back into a normal position with my lip doing the same for a little while. Now, 4 weeks into the 2nd month, it's happening again. Is this common? I'm finding it very hard to talk and rather embarrassing plus I'm a teacher - talk about frustrating! I don't think braces would be so bad if my teeth would stop shifting forward (extreme) and then back.
Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.

rabbit teeth and protruding lip anyone?

I had a similiar experience... I had upper and lower crowding and the ortho "pulled out" my upper teeth to make room for the lower before tightening it all up during the end of my treatment. Check out my video below if you're curious. It might help you better understand the process of spreading/tightening teeth.

Interestingly enough, Merden, I came across your video on Youtube the other day before this post. It's an excellent reference for someone like me who's just starting out with braces. I have the same snaggle tooth situation, but my bite doesn't line up on the left side and my midline is off by a smidge too. As a result, had one of my bicuspids extracted. The rabbit tooth/protruding lip thing comes and goes along with the garbled sounding speech. I am hoping to settle into some type of normalcy with these braces eventually.
Thanks for the post!
