Pain or No Pain

I have pain in my teeth. I can hardly bite into anything. I ended up putting my veggies in the food processor just so I could eat them

My cousin who is a dental hygentist recommended chewing Trident gum immediately after getting them tightened, and that helped.

There was definitely pain when they first went on. It took weeks for me to get used to them. Sometimes it even felt like my teeth were loose.

I've had them for a year now. They don't really hurt unless it's the day of an adjustment or I'm wearing strong elastics/bands. I'm actually surprised that they don't hurt more - I was expecting them to hurt all the time but that's not the case.

The elastic bands I'm wearing now (12 hrs/day) don't really cause much pain either but I've been in smaller bands that hurt quite a bit.

My philosophy: no pain, no gain!

yes, no pain no gain... if i don't feel pain after adjustments, i don't like it !

I'm not a big fan of the pain (obviously), but I consider pain from braces to be pain I paid for, so I'm willing to tolerate it. I've been through some very severe painful health problems, so pain from braces is almost a welcome relief!

Well, it has been 7 weeks and I am still sore while chewing. Went today to have the wire changed and it was painful for them to open the gates. We decided to wait another week to change the wire. Anyone else experienced soreness/pain this far into the process? I HATE BRACES!

I remember the first day, thinking "This is easy, no pain!". Then day 2, 3, and 4 happened. I didn't think I was ever going to get to eat solid food again.

It will get better, just hang in there.

You are talking about pain a few days into the process. I have had these for 7 weeks not days and they are still painful. I few days of discomfort is normal but not weeks.
