Just go elastics after 11 months.

Ortho is working on my bite -- didn't say how long I'll have to wear these for.

I checked out you're update...excellent progress in only 12 months...congrats!

As for the elastics, I've worn them for approx. 12 out of 22 months so far. My ortho gave me a 2 month break but I'm told I'll have to wear them again, probably starting with my next adjustment. Oddly, I've found that stopping and starting elastics is more unconfortable than wearing them continuously.

I have yet to be in elastics, and I'm going on month... what is it, 18? 19?

I got elastics in month 16 and only had to wear them for 12 weeks. When/if you do get them, be sure to do exactly what the orthodontist says. Those elastics are a pain and you don't want to prolong the length of time you need to wear them :D

Everyone is different. I had my elastic in 6 weeks, I feel much better with them then without them.

Ugh, I get Class 3 elastics in a few weeks. Are they really as bad as I have heard?

My orthodontist has been reticent to answer my questions about wearing elastics, except to say that I will wear them at some point.

I have 12 elastic hooks in my mouth, so of course I've been curious about how many I'll have to wear, and for how long.

I suppose it could be that my orthodontist won't know the answers to those questions until further down the line, but why not just say that?
