In my case when I clench my teeth my upper molars don't touch my lower molars There is a huge gap in between that was not there before I got braces.

Is that normal?

That happened to me initially, after a while the right hand side met. then it was the left, seems to change as my teeth move as now my right hand side meet again but not the left unless i clench hard! very irritating as makes eating difficult so sometimes i feel i cant be bothered to eat!
Feel reassured that I think its common!!

Its probably because the leveling of your teeth caused your premolar teeth to extrude.

My back teeth currently do not touch either. Doesn't really affect my chewing though since the gap is very small.

My teeth don't clench together because 2 of my brackets are stopping them....very annoying to try and chew anything...am gonna speak to the ortho on my next visit to see if this is right?

Mine do not touch, either! Part of my bite problem is that I have to slide my lower jaw back in order for my molars to meet. Now, with my brackets, I can't do that - my bottom teeth brackets run into the back of my top teeth. So I really can't chew too much. My ortho's assistant had said that my bite will keep changing throughout this whole process, so we'll see what happens!
