at what state of treatment did you notice what ur new smile
In other words, the smile I see now at 2 months in braces is not going to be the same smile I see in 1 year from now or even 1 1/2 yrs from now.
Knowing what you know now, at what stage at your treatment did you see what your new smile was really going to look like (after 1 year? or a month before your braces came off ) .

I love mine now. I was just noticing this week when smiling in pictures that I love how my uppers look. My lowers are slowly changing but I love what I see so far. My teeth have made major progress in only 2 months time it's unbelievable to me.
So happy I decided to do this. My self confidence has improved as well.

I'm not even at a month yet, but I'm getting impatient already! Boy have I got a long way to go, haha.revontuli wrote:I have just one month and one week behind me, so I'm still waiting for a change.
My teeth haven't moved at all yet. They haven't even connected the wires to the molar bands yet (and said they don't know if they're going to do it next visit, either), because right now they are just loosening up my teeth for movement. Ugh, they're loose, I'm ready for movement!

I would saaayy...yesterday haha. I'm in the final stage of my treatment (14 months in) and I just got my elastics at my adjustment yesterday so I can fix my bite. I don't have much to change, but I can notice a difference in my smile already when I wear the elastics. It's a good difference too - hooray!
I was totally eager to find out what my smile was going to look like when I was first starting out, but now that I pretty much know what it is I find treatment that much harder because I'm so excited to see the final result! In retrospect, not knowing might have made things easier. The last few months are going by so slow now looking at my awesome but imprisoned smile!!

Sometimes I feel like my smile more or less looks the same, still. I have less protrusion, sure.. so in that respect it changed about 1 year into treatment. However, my lowers are still leveling out, and I'm waiting for those to have that nice curve that you see with people who have perfect teeth.. it's hard to describe correctly. I just don't have that yet, and once I have that, and my midline shifts over a tad, then I'll have my new smile.

If you have a phone that takes photos, try and do a quick shot of your teeth every month (or use a camera... I'm just suggesting that a phone is super-easy).
You'll think that after 4 months your teeth look "amazing." (and they will)
And then again after 6 months, you'll take a picture, and you'll be even more amazed (and also think that maybe the 4 months photo wasn't so "amazing" after all).
Then a year goes by, and you'll be surprised at how great you thought your teeth looked at 6 months, because they'll look stellar after a year.
I've just crossed the 24 month mark, and have been taking plenty of photos along the way. It's interesting to look back at the photos from a year ago -- how I was totally ready to be de-banded ("get these off of me!") but now I can see that keeping with the program was totally worth it.
I'm constantly amazed at how great the before and after photos are on this forum: but the 4 to 6 month mark seems to be about where everyone starts to realize that they are on their way to a killer smile.

But now, I *really* see how awesome the progress is
