Help/advice needed

Any of you who have TADs I need advice!

I just got my TADs done Thursday. My mouth is so sore and I feel like I feel when I first got braces (how am I ever going to get used to these? How am I going to eat?). Please tell me it gets better that after a while you don’t feel them. I have been using medicated mouth wash and warm salt water to help them heal right. Any suggestions to make them feel more comfortable?

I don't have TAD's but there is already a multi-page thread re: TAD's. I bet there is a lot of good information for you there.

I had a HORRIBLE time with my TAD's, took almost 3 weeks to settle down. But yes it eventually gets better. Orabase is your friend. I also found these things called canker covers that saved my life, ok maybe I'm being a tad over dramatic, but seriously they were a god send. I got mine at CVS. Yhey were expensive but worth every penny.

This is a few days old so hopefully you're feeling much more comfortable by this point! If not though...

Is the soreness you're feeling at the actual insertion site of the TADs? Or are your TADs already loaded and your teeth are sore from the movement?

I have had no trouble with my TADs besides the obvious soreness from tooth movement (mine were loaded the same day they were inserted). At first the gum area around them was quite sore to touch, but after a week of rinsing with medicated mouthwash and brushing the areas with extremely soft brushes my ortho gave me, the soreness was gone.

Now I can brush them as if they were teeth and don't even notice them most of the time.

Good luck! If the TADs are still causing you extreme discomfort, I would probably call my ortho just to make sure that's normal.
