In-ovation c question

#1 Post by preciouskiss825 »

I just got my in-ovation c brackets on yesterday, and they feel so huge. Has anyone else experienced this?

Congrats to you!!

I think ALL brackets, no matter which type, feel huge when we first get them. I remember rinsing out my mouth after getting brackets, but prior to them putting in the wire, and thinking "OMG - what have I done? I'll never be able to close my mouth!" You will soon get used to them, and will be able to comfortably close your mouth over them. I had a BIG overjet when I started, and was afraid I'd look like Bart Simpson with my upper lip sticking out so far, but it really doesn't look any different.

I have them too! They definitely felt very big and prickly when I first got them. But now a week and a half later they feel normal (well, as normal as braces can feel).

Thanks everyone for all of your replies. Today they don't feel as large. I only have one spot that is bothering me, my canine has a bracket with the hook and the hook keeps catching my lip. I put a little wax on it and I'm fine. Hopefully by next week I will forget about them.

RedDress, I took a look at ur pics, how long have you had yours on?

I have had these for 16 days now. When i first got them they felt like giant cubes in my mouth. Not so made now. Compared to my upper linguals (which are tiny) they still feel bigger, but doesnt annoy me as much anymore.

Have not had any need to use wax with them. Goodluck.

I have In-Ovation C's and at first they did feel so massive. I thought I'd never get used to them. It only took a couple of weeks before I would sometimes forget they were there. :)

I had opted for the C's at first but ended up going with all metal. No offense to anybody in ceramics but to me they are even more noticeable. Kind of like, hey there is something on your teeth, are they braces or boogers?

I do understand what you mean about them being noticeable. I thought they would be a little more desecrate than they are. Originally I also wanted them on the bottom, but now I'm not sure. I still have 3 or 4 months to decide, so I will wait and see how I feel about it then.

Has anyone had any staining with them?

I've had my Inovation C for almost 9 months, and I am super happy with them.

@Preciouskiss825 - zero staining, despite being a smoker, regular drinker of black & green tea and eating everything! (no caramel and nuts, but everything else).

Bookfairy,

Thanks for the response. I am hoping that I will eventual become happy with my in-ovation c's too. I have only had then on for four days, so they're still new to me. At this point they still feel a bit intrusive. Glad to hear about the staining, or lack there of.
