I had my first adjustment yesterday. Pain isn't too bad today, but can only eat on the one side :/ Even that hurts though
The adjustment wasn't too bad except when she went to tighten a wire (which hurt) and pop off come a bracket -,- Her scrapping the glue off was really putting me on edge as well Otherwise it wasn't too bad

I look forward to adjustments too. I just had one this morning. I got a rectangular wire on the bottom to replace the old round wire and am now wearing elastics! The orthodontist apologized for doing this to me right before Christmas. I said, "don't apologize, I embrace the pain!" No pain (discomfort), no progress! Yippeee!!!!

I hate adjustments....but I love them!

They really don't bother me much at all. Last time he cranked the wire and I envisioned a good sized crimp in them, but it was barely noticeable and I felt very little discomfort from the adjustment.

I love having my adjustments done. One step nearer to straighter teeth at the ripe old age of 58!!! I have had 3 adjustments so far without any pain or discomfort. I love feeling the slight pressure knowing my teeth are straightening!!!

Sorry - another one that looks forward to adjustments. Even if the adjustment is painful, I know that I am that much closer to getting my braces off.
Ceramic braces top & bottom on 6/24/10

I love my adjustments...for the most part.
I like seeing my ortho because I think he's super nice and I like knowing all my ligs are going to get changed and I can pick new colors. My teeth don't really hurt after adjustments, so that's cool. I didn't like my last adjustment though because the assistant was really rough with me and cut my lip open and I don't want her to work on me again. I have pretty thick wires, but I like the thinner ones better, yet I know wires have to change.

For me it's a like/dislike thing.
On the one hand, because I'm in quite a thick wire now it can be a painful having it fitted. Though it's nothing compared to the last wires I had the first time I had braces. They were ridiculously thick and square. I was told they were especially imported from Australia and I was one of the only people my orthodontist had needed to use them; somehow that didn't make me feel any better about it! They were so thick they had to be jammed into the brackets with great force and it used to be agony. I'm shuddering at the memory.
On the other hand I like chatting to my orthodontist and it makes me feel like I'm getting somewhere with my treatment. He's also pretty quick, and compared to the very occasional time I've had repairs done by one of the registrar he's very good (not that the registrars are bad, they just take much much longer over it). Ocassionally I'll get to participate a little in what's going on too.. like he's had me do my own suction (water vacuum thing) a couple of times, so the nurse could have both her hands free.
