Appt 2morrow for braces to come on....*a lil nervous*

Hello everyone,

I have my appt to have my braces put on tomorrow afternoon. I'm a little nervous, but I also feel a little prepared from reading the stories from this message board. I know to take pain killers before I get there, I know to apply chap stick to my lips before I get there, I will definatly eat lunch before my appt, and I know to be on a soft diet for a while afterwards.

Knowing and experiencing are two different things so....I'm excited...yet still a little nervous. I will be getting the smaller traditional style braces.

I plan on documenting me experience as well so I will take pictures today (before braces) and tomorrow (after braces) and upload them =)

Thanks Joycelee. I just got my braces on 2 hours ago =)

Right now I'm eating lunch (hot & sour soup) It is a little difficult to chew the chicken....and I keep getting food stuck in my wire....but so far there is not pain. I've heard the pain comes the next day...guess we shall see...But I'm happy they are finally on =)

You might not have any real pain if you're lucky!

My recommendation is to use wax if the brackets bother you at all, it's worth it and eventually you'll get use to them.

Some days are better than others...and as you proceed in this adventure, know that different procedures will occur during you adjustments. I have an overbite, and my 2nd adjustment the ortho assistant applied cement on my back molars. It felt like I had a piece of jolly rancher stuck on my teeth. It's hard to really chew food to the consistency for correct digestion. I'm so looking forward to the end result. That's What Makes Me SMILE!!
