Just got braces

I'm new here. :) I just got my braces on this past Wednesday. I have the Damon system and my estimated treatment time is 30 months. I hope it goes quickly!

Hi Rach44. Welcome I also have the damon system, so far they are great (ive had mine on for 20 days now)
How are you feeling? Are you able to eat normally?

Thank you both! I realized I posted my intro in the wrong area (so sorry!) so now I have two intros floating around here.

Anxiousgirl - my teeth are still pretty sensitive! I can't really chew at all. I have bite blocks on two of my upper back molars (one on each side) to prevent my upper front teeth from loosening my lower front brackets, so when I chew my back teeth don't touch at all. I was supposed to have bite turbos, but even then my overbite still would have been too bad. It's definitely taking some getting used to, but I'll be really excited to see all the changes over time. Did it take long for the pain/sensitivity to go away for you? I'm glad you likes yours so far! I'm happy with deciding to go with Damon. :)

I also have Damon brackets, clear on the top front. I'm finding them to be pretty good so far! Tomorrow will be 1 week since getting them on and I'm still having sensitivity and problems with biting into things and chewing, but I can feel that it's slowly getting better every day. Congrats on getting braced!

Congratulations! I too have Damon braces. Just on the top so far. I got the clear ones and could not be more thrilled with them! I'm just over 3 weeks in and have already see so much movement it's crazy! My husband told me he's jealous now and wants his teeth fixed (although his teeth are pretty lovely). I've gotten really used to them already. I still have difficulty biting into food with my front teeth so I just cut everything up. Good luck to you!

I had bite turbos and they drove me insane. At a checkup I told him i could hardly eat a thing and he said my teeth had moved so he could reduce the size of them. Now i can eat solid foods too. I am still experiencing some sensitivity but not pain. Some teeth are sensitive but not all of them. The pain went away after about a week if i can remember, im not quite sure.
