How long will this last?

I had my fixed braces fitted on wednesday. My teeth themselves don't hurt too much. But my head hurts so much. My orthodontist said it could happen as she has put cement on my lower back teeth to change my bite and stop me biting my brackets off. Only were the cement is do my teeth meet so chewing is impossible at the moment. How long can I expect it to hurt for. It's so hard to concentrate :(

HI! I had a similar situation when my braces were put on. I had horrible headaches and my jaw ached to no end. It did subside after 2 weeks or so It will get better over time but in the beginning its tough with the constant pressure & its so hard not to think about it when you're constantly in pain. I hope you feel better soon! Excedrin worked well for my headaches have you tried any over the counter pain relief?

It lasted about two weeks for me as well. Although it gradually lessened thru the second week.
