I'm so excited that I've come this far. I had a terribly, painful start in braces, it was a nightmare I don't care to relive...ever. But today I look at my progress photos and I can't believe how much has changed in only 6 weeks! I'm so glad I got braces and am now, more than ever, looking forward to seeing the final result.
Of course, I may be singing a different tune next week when I go in for my first adjustment...dreading...major dreading. I'm hoping and praying all goes well and it's not nearly as bad as when I first had them put on!
So tell me, how was y'alls 1st adjustment? Not as bad, equally as bad, worse than when you had them put on initially?
Thanks for and and all input!
(oh and if you want to see my progress photos you can check out my blog on Blogspot which I update regularly or you can see my thread about it on here, links below)

Congrats!
I found that the first 2 weeks were the worst and after that all the adjustments hurt for a while but never quite as much as when they went on! It is all worth it, I just got in off after 2 years and 3 months and it is wonderful!!!

My first adjustment was after 8 weeks and was not bad at all. The ortho left the same wire in though. I was given elastics to wear though and the first couple days my teeth were really aching but that subsided. My second adjustment was after 4 weeks and a larger rectangular wire was put in and and I ached for maybe a day. Much better than when I first got them.
Good Luck.
Good Luck.

I agree- my first adjustment was not nearly as bad as getting them on! There was some tenderness but it was way less severe than expected. For me, the worst part of my first week in braces was how cut up my mouth got, so now that I'm used to that it has been smooth sailing. After my first adjustment there were just a couple little new spots where I needed to put wax for a few days (which means teeth are moving- yay!).
Re: SIX Weeks In!!! Need Some Feedback :)
My first adjustment they just changed ligs & left the wires alone. I go back in ~3wks for my second adjustment which I'm assuming he'll put in a new wire along w/ putting more tension on the chain for my canine.

I had my first adjustment, it was pretty painful during the process but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be afterwards. Just a little soreness is all. However, I thought the technician was pulling my teeth out while removing the old ligs and putting on the new ones... effing OWWWW!!!
I blogged about it, you can read the unabridged version here: http://tinselteethchronicles.blogspot.c ... tment.html
